In this first edition, we explored in depth RFID technology, its architecture, its communication mechanisms and the challenges related to its security. The study highlighted the evolution and state of the art of RFID, highlighting its numerous applications in various fields such as livestock breeding, agriculture, logistics and construction. The architecture of an RFID system was analyzed in detail, highlighting essential components such as tags, readers and frequencies used. We also studied the principles of communication between reader and tag, focusing on energy transfer modes and existing standards. Technical and economic challenges, as well as privacy concerns, were addressed to better understand the obstacles to widespread adoption of RFID. Finally, the issue of security was examined, highlighting the vulnerabilities of RFID systems and possible solutions to strengthen their reliability. Through this study, we have demonstrated that RFID represents a key technology for the optimization of embedded systems and IoT.
