Jing-Jing Hu was born in Heidelberg to Chinese parents who grew up in the Netherlands. She studied Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at the University of Manchester, and Global Governance and Diplomacy at the University of Oxford.
Initially planning to become a diplomat, she spent a few years in the politics space in London and Beijing. Stuck in lockdown in 2020, she taught herself how to code and became a software engineer in Berlin.
While trying to start her own venture, she launched " You Rice Me Up" , a podcast about Asian Europeans from all walks of life. She also wrote articles published in Business Insider, Raconteur, and The Times. After unexpectedly losing her job in 2024, she decided to fully embrace her multi-passionate personality and pursue a portfolio career. " Farewell to my 20s" is her first book.
