Do you want me to tell you a story? There's so much more to tell. . . and time passes all too quickly here. What was once clear gets harder to see. There is more danger in this world than you can ever know.

It was a year and a half before Cain returned.

Things had changed. I had a life and a family again, friends that I cared about. I didn't want to give that up for some fate I hadn't chosen. . . but I wanted to protect them.

Cain taught me to use my Power. I didn't like it. I didn't like the work. I didn't like the secrets. Cain was acting weird, and I hated being kept in the dark.

But there is more at stake than I thought. There are still the Avadis. . . and I didn't know how dark the world could get.
