Three-dimensional modeling has already contributed a great deal to the entertainment industry and is now being widely used in the manufacture and creation of new products. The possibility of having a model of a product at a lower price and with greater speed has made this technique increasingly accepted in all areas of engineering. Three-dimensional scanning equipment has a high investment cost, even those with low precision. In this book, we aim to cover the different three-dimensional acquisition techniques and build a 3D scanner using free software and hardware with low-cost, easy-to-acquire components, thus stimulating the popularization of reverse engineering techniques.
