Bei der vorliegenden Aufnahme mit Dorothee Mields und der Lautten Compagney handelt es sich um die Wiederveröffentlichung einer ursprünglich auf CARUS erschienenen CD. Die Kritiken bei der Erstveröffentlichung waren durchweg enthusiastisch: "Man ist, mit einem Wort, hier sofort auf Du und Du mit Henry Purcell, mit tanzenden Luftgeistern, verwunschenen Wäldern und rituellen Tänzen im Morgennebel."
