The Spirit of Gambo

Thomas Hume (um1569-1645) war nicht nur ein Hauptmann, der als Söldner in der schwedischen und russischen Armee diente, sondern auch ein überaus versierter Musiker und Komponist. Die Sopranistin Emma Kirkby sowie der Gambist Paolo Pandolfo und sein Ensemble Labyrinto führen hier eindrucksvoll vor, dass früher auch aktive Militärs zu herausragenden künstlerischen Leistungen fähig sein konnten.
