From the author of Wild Child and A Wild Child's Book of Birds comes A Wild Child's Guide to Nature at Night: the perfect guide for aspiring naturalists.

Join the brilliant Dara McAnulty, winner of the Wainwright Prize for Diary of a Young Naturalist, as he shows you how to explore nature at night. This beautiful, informative gift book is illustrated in full colour by Barry Falls.

Prepare to embark on a night-time adventure, learning how to use all your senses to experience the wonders that unfold at night. Journey through five different habitats in Britain and Ireland - meet hedgehogs and moths in the garden; bats, owls, foxes and badgers in the woodland; corncrakes and dormice in the countryside; pine martens, glow-worms and mountain hares in the heathlands; and the animals that live as constellations in our sky.

Full of fantastic facts about nocturnal animals, activities on how to spot them and ways that we can protect the natural world around us. Once you understand just how amazing our beautiful planet is, you will want to do everything you can to protect it.

Dara McAnulty

Dara McAnulty (BEM) is a multi-award winning author and conservationist. He is the youngest ever winner of the Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing, the British Zoological Society award for communicating zoology and the RSPB Medal for conservation. He is a prolific campaigner, fundraiser and advocate for the natural world. He divides his time between Cambridge University and the Mourne Mountains, where he lives with his family in County Down.

Barry Falls grew up in rural Northern Ireland, where he spent a lot of time drawing pictures and writing stories to go with them. When he got to art college in Belfast, he discovered that he might be able to do such a thing for a living, and was very excited. Since then, he's been working as a commercial illustrator, and picking up multiple awards for the work he does for such clients as The New York Times, American Airlines, The Telegraph, Laurence King Publishing and many more besides. His work has appeared in magazines, books, exhibitions, on textiles and homeware, and in advertising campaigns around the world.
