Dan Slott has built a loyal fan base by combining old-school fun with stories and characterizations friendly to new readers. Following his run on She-Hulk, Slott moved into the upper echelon of Marvel writers, launching Avengers: The Initiative and taking the reins on Mighty Avengers from Brian Michael Bendis. When Marvel gave Spider-Man a fresh start in 2008, Slott was one of several rotating writers on the thrice-monthly Amazing Spider-Man. Slott became the writer most closely identified with the web-slinger’ s “ Brand New Day” era, and the title hit the “ Big Time” when he took over as full-time writer for a decade-long run. Slott has also turned his talents to other iconic Marvel heroes — including soaring the spaceways with Silver Surfer; helming Tony Stark: Iron Man toward Iron Man 2020; and masterminding the glorious return of Fantastic Four, leading to his long-awaited “ Reckoning War. ” In 2022, Slott made his way back to the Spider-Verse, teaming with legendary penciler Mark Bagley on Spider-Man.
Following his dynamic and eye-catching work on Marvel UK’ s Dark Guard, Spanish artist Carlos Pacheco went on to illustrate Bishop, X-Universe, Starjammers and Excalibur for Marvel before becoming regular penciler on X-Men. He then teamed with Kurt Busiek on the fan-favorite Avengers Forever. Pacheco wrote and drew Fantastic Four, and penned a spinoff Inhumans limted series. His first work upon returning to Marvel in 2009 was Ultimate Comics: Avengers with writer Mark Millar. He subsequently helped relaunch Uncanny X-Men with Kieron Gillen.
Italian-born artist Andrea Di Vito’ s work for Marvel Comics includes the limited series Annihilation and Stormbreaker: The Saga of Beta Ray Bill; the one-shot What If Aunt May Had Died Instead of Uncle Ben? ; and stints on series such as Captain America and the Falcon, Thing, Thor and Young Avengers. His first published work in the United States was a pinup in Marvel Shadows and Light.
Multitalented Spanish artist Javier Rodriguez is a former graphic designer turned colorist and penciler who has brought his distinctive hues to titles including The Mighty Thor and Doctor Strange: The Oath. Rodriguez has handled both penciling and coloring duties on Amazing Spider-Man. And having helped maintain the impressive artistic standards of Mark Waid’ s Daredevil with his mastery of the palette, grabbed the chance to also wow readers with his line work on the title. He drew and colored the first Superior Spider-Man Annual before bringing his distinctive style to the new-look Spider-Woman.
