Guille Esquivel, a Xicana athlete manager based in Inglewood, created "Nelly At Bat" inspired by her extensive experience working alongside Nelson Cruz throughout his major league career. In 2009, she co-authored a book with Mayrely Perez on Latino players and this is their second project. Guille enjoys traveling for work and spending time with her family and pets.
Mayrely Perez, a Dominican mother of two, serves as a press advisor for the baseball players' union in the Dominican Republic. Collaborating on their second project together, a children's book, with Guille Esquivel has been a rewarding experience for her. Mayrely enjoys sports, especially baseball, loves attending live concerts, and cherishes spending time with her family.
Shirley Hernández is a dominican art director and motion designer. Studied Graphic Design at Altos de Chavón La Escuela de Diseño in Dominican Republic, and attended Parsons The New School for Design in New York to complete a BFA in Communication Design and Technology in 2011. She was selected as a semifinalist for the Adobe Achievements Awards, in that year. She has been working in creative and advertisement agencies, as art director for major international and local brands such as HP, Orange, Presidente, Barceló, Arla, Pizza Hut and others; for about 9 years. In 2020, she became a full time freelance illustrative and motion designer.
