Andreas loves all types of animals, so when he sees a turtle on the road, he wants to keep it safe. His parents tell him he can keep it for a little while, but it must go back to its own family in the wild. When Andreas gets home he puts a cage on top of the turtle, but turtles like to dig, and when Andreas isn't looking the turtle escapes. Will Andreas be able to find the turtle again?
Having spent some of her childhood living in the Greek village of Visinia, Kalliope and her brother, Andreas, saw a lot of different animals: donkeys, snakes, goats, salamanders, and even scorpians. They spent a lot of time playing outside with their friends going on picnics, and sitting in cherry trees eating the cherries right off the branch. Kalliope now teaches high school English and enjoys going on adventures with her dog Beau.
