Military Victims in Colombia and their right to full reparation

The affectation of the rights to life and to physical and psychological integrity of members of the public force as a consequence of serious violations of International Humanitarian Law by illegal armed groups cannot be considered simply as a risk inherent to military activity, thus ignoring their condition as victims of the conflict and therefore their right to fair and equitable comprehensive compensation, For this reason, the content of Paragraph 1 of Article 3 of Law 1448 of 2011 is nonsensical when it states that their economic reparation shall correspond to any concept to which they are entitled in accordance with the special regime applicable to them, as if it were any type of damage to the health or life of the military or police officer.
