
A dystopian novel that deals with a government taking advantage of its citizens, rather than helping them.
When Sean Duncan is arrested by the Obesity police and sent to Central Iowa Farm jail for non-payment of his fat tax he finds his father's library at the Farm Welcome center. This sets him on a mission to discover what really happened to his father who was a US senator and a presidential candidate. Sean buddies up with a jail mate who helps him escape and joins in his quest. They locate the woman who ratted him out to the police. When Sean and his new friend Baxter find Eden, she is mourning her deceased parents who died at their Farm apartment and are due to have their funeral the following day. She learns that Farm funerals aren't what they seem.
In an effort to gain favor with the Farm director, Sean agrees to do promotional ads for the New American Farms. He hopes this new position will get him closer to the information he needs to discover his father's fate. Meanwhile Baxter finds love with Rosetta, a Farm hospital nurse. The four new friends set out to get Sean elected president, a president who would abolish the Farms.
