Shelley Powers is a Mississippi author, journalist, and communications director whose lifelong love of storytelling bridges newsroom precision and imaginative heart. A graduate of Mississippi State University, she began her career in print journalism before moving into public relations in the public sector and then curriculum editor in the private sector. She now serves the people of Mississippi, once again, as a communications director in the public sector. Through her Creekline House imprint, she writes stories of wonder and warmth for young readers. She lives in Mississippi with her dog, Petey, and an ever-growing garden of herbs and hope.
