Twisted Love

Twisted Love hat mich emotional absolut überrascht. Ich bin mit der Erwartung einer typischen Enemies-to-Lovers-Romance gestartet - und wurde schnell eines Besseren belehrt. Die Geschichte von Ava und Alex ist mehr als nur knisternde Spannung: Sie ist intensiv, düster und gleichzeitig unglaublich berührend.Alex, der verschlossene, kontrollierte Nachbar mit dunkler Vergangenheit, und Ava, die lebensfrohe Fotografin mit ihren eigenen inneren Narben, entwickeln eine Dynamik, die mich regelrecht gefesselt hat. Besonders stark fand ich die Art, wie die Autorin emotionale Tiefe mit prickelnder Chemie verbindet. Man spürt die Gegensätze - aber auch das, was sie einander geben: Heilung, Vertrauen und ein Stück Hoffnung.Natürlich gibt es Drama, typische Klischees und stellenweise ein bisschen zu viel Perfektion - aber das hat meinem Lesegenuss keinen Abbruch getan. Ich habe mitgefühlt, mitgelitten und mitgeliebt.Für mich ist Twisted Love der perfekte Auftakt in eine Reihe voller Leidenschaft, Verletzlichkeit und Second Chances. Wer auf tiefgründige Romance mit Bad-Boy-Vibe und starker Heldin steht, wird hier definitiv auf seine Kosten kommen.

Terrible things have happened to Ava in her childhood and she cant remember anything of it. But despite that she is an open and loving person that cares deeply for the people in her life. So its not surprising that she falls for the groveling best friend of her older brother. Alex himself has also experienced tragedy at a young age but contrary to Ava he remembers every little detail about that night. He is driven by the need for revenge and hasnt felt anything different for a while. So it comes as a surprise when Ava is the one who makes him feel something for the first time. I love a good brothers best friend love story, so I was looking forward to see how this one goes. Ive already read quite a few books by the author and I really enjoy her style of writing. Ava is a character that probably a lot of us can relate to. I think its great how much she changes from the naive little sister to a strong and powerful woman throughout the book. What I love most is that she faces her trauma alone and does not need the male character to get through it. But to be honest I wasnt a big fan of their love story. It just all happened so fast and they went from not liking each other to deeply in love within moments. I wished there would have been more of a built up. Then the rest of the story wasnt a love story at all anymore but rather a big murder mystery to figure out what happened to Alex parents. Thats not what I expected when reading the summary although I didnt mit it too much. But why did he need to sing? I am looking forward to the rest of the series though because they do sound really promising to me. This book was not what I expected and does have some room for improvement. But I did enjoy reading it so I will give the rest of the series a chance.
