i'm most comfortable in my garden. i enjoy writing and reading in the yard or on the porch. i love words, and yet, as a toddler, i talked late andthen quickly learned to be silent. i felt safe that way. today, i remain a quiet child. the breath and touch of my ancestors carries me forward. their wisdom is the low, vibratory message that I receive close to the veil, close to the earth. i write poetry that sits open, ready to acknowledge the reader, even while hiding the writer.
