Ghislaine Raymond

Ghislaine Raymond, the second youngest of 9 siblings, grew up in Northern Ontario. She raised 3 amazing children and became a child care worker before meeting Anneliese to learn quilting. Anneliese shared her story and her desire to write her book. Ghislaine helped her make it happen. She now spends her time with her 11 grandchildren on her peaceful retreat amongst the trees.Laurette Leblond, one of Ghislaine's older sisters, also grew up in Northern Ontario. She raised her two awesome children there while learning about printing and running a print shop. Laurette encouraged Ghislaine to write the book as she felt her story needed to be told despite previous unsuccessful attempts. She eventually retired and moved away to British Columbia so she can be near her son and travels frequently to visit her daughter and grandchildren.Anneliese was born in Poland pre-World War 2. She witnessed her father's capture by the Nazis before being abandoned by her mother and sisters. She struggled through her early life and found her way to Canada by escaping East Germany. This is her story.
