Dr. Keichea Reever is a compassionate and optimistic Leader. She has worked in the field of education since 1995. She began her career as a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist. She currently works as the Senior Director of Special Education in an Urban School District where she provides support and guidance to educators who serve students in general and special education classroom settings. Dr. Keichea Reever has an extensive educational background. She earned an Associates of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from Long Beach City College in 1990. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Long Beach in 1993. She earned a Master of Arts Degree in Speech Communication from California State University, Fullerton in 1995 (along with a Professional Clear Clinical Rehabilitative Services Teaching Credential). She earned an Assistive Technology Practitioner (ATP) Certificate in 2001 from California State University, Northridge. She earned a Master of Science Degree in Administration from Pepperdine University in 2005 (along with an Administrative Credential) and a she earned a Doctoral Degree in Organizational Leadership from the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University in 2010. Dr. Keichea Reever is also the Founder/CEO of the Southern California Mentoring Academy (SCMA). She began studying mentoring as a second career while she was raising her firstborn, charming but rebellious teenaged son. She really wanted to know how to get through to teenagers who continuously made poor decisions. Her self-directed studies led her to establish the Southern California Mentoring Academy in June of 2006. By August of 2006, Dr. Reever enrolled in the Organizational Leadership Doctoral Program at Pepperdine University because she wanted to learn how to effectively lead the mentoring academy. Dr. Reever's dissertation which is entitled: Transformational Leadership and Personal Development: The Impact of the Youth Citizenship Seminar on Former Participants, revealed that the Transformational Leadership style utilized by the leaders in this program positively impacted the personal development of 97% of former participants. In addition, Dr. Reever is an author who self-published her first book entitled, Leading People: A Pathway to Personal Development in November of 2015.
