M. Scott Hamilton is a nearly lifelong 'creative' writer and storyteller. He started writing fanciful, funny stories in the fourth grade and hasn't stopped trying to keep doing so, for business or pleasure, ever since. His dream is to combine his loves for immersive travel and words and thoughtful communication - including extensive in person, journalistic, and background-building research experience gained in the corporate world - to share stories of excitement, connection, and discovery with his readers. Through the Worldwide Websters, he aims to delight and inspire other families to travel in adventurous and locally-aware, culturally and environmentally sensitive - and sensible - ways, wherever they wish to explore together. A single parent for most of his kids' lives, Scott had dreamed of and visualized writing this series for more than two decades. With a diverse and varied list of destinations already visited, he has made it a priority - since each of his own three children were very young - to try to consistently introduce himself and his family members to new places and people. Having a career in sales and finance provided him the opportunity to travel, and he's occasionally been able to combine business and personal trips into shared family experiences. In every domestic or overseas itinerary, Scott and his family members have seen firsthand the value of caring just a bit more than the average tourist about local history, culture, cuisine, and - always - actively exploring beyond the obvious attractions and activities on foot, in the water, by bike, bus, car, boat, or even plane. Scott is a former competitive swimmer and college newspaper editor who has combined success working in the large and small business world with trying to be the best parent and travel partner to his kids. He has volunteered in both simple and major ways at his children's schools, in state higher education institutions, and in several community development and environmental sustainability initiatives while living in Washington State, New York, and Connecticut. When not working, Scott and his wife Sharon can often be found exploring a new spot on the world-wide map, and/or biking, swimming, hiking, or camping. They now make their home back in the beautiful Pacific Northwest - and the kids aren't ever too far away to join them for another family adventure!
