The Love You Gave

It was the first time in her life that Sandi felt so much love, and it was also the first time she felt so much pain. Love has so many different interpretations, it has been studied, desired, and misunderstood for centuries, but love for Sandi came with a price. Often times, when we think about love, it makes us feel all warm inside. For a child, the smile of approval from a parent; for a teenager, the smile that comes after the first eye contact from the cute boy across the room; for a mother, the warm comfort of the newborn baby cradled in her arms describes the feelings of love.

When you add in sacrifice, love just gets harder. That is what kind of love lies ahead for anyone who has been involved in adoption, the hard kind of love. It is said that Adoption is God's way, and it is only through God that the events in this story could have happened.
