Looking back on the life she lived; Sushila Niles feels it would be good share her story which is a remarkable read. Her life began in a small and remote island in the Indian ocean and was an unremarkable life till an unexpected event, (obtaining a university teaching position), changed the trajectory of her life. She obtained a Master's degree from Manchester England and holds a doctorate from Melbourne Australia. Having taught at universities in Sri Lanka and Nigeria, she then became a Senior Lecturer at a university in Australia till her retirement.
Sushila is no stranger to writing having published professional papers in reputed journals in psychology and education, in the USA and England throughout her academic life. She was involved in creative writing in her youth, writing novelettes and poems as a school girl, and was on the editorial board of a college newsletter. Even now in her declining years she produces a newsletter for retirement villages. Her life throughout has been challenging as well as exciting; living, studying, and working in diverse cultural settings in the West as well as in Africa. Many times, she faced enormous challenges but came through much stronger because of God's grace. All honour and glory to God. She is now 90 years old but still has a sharp mind and a strong commitment to church and society. She loves life, loves to sing and loves to bring joy to the lonely and sad people around her. This is a story of a long and fruitful life.
