After cancer, then a stroke, losing 40 per cent of my brain, I then had a whole year
of weird epilepsy. Attacks every two months on the same day with hallucinations,
discovered a skill to write, even though that part of my brain is missing.
Interestingly, Charles Dickens, Agatha Christie and Lewis Carol had epilepsy.
Graduated in politics and philosophy at Hull University.
Have three children; one is at Manchester, studying drama ambition fatherdaughter
Bafta for the same movie/screenplay.
My brain is like a pack of cards where each card is a memory I can access and
generate a new story every day; in the last two years, have drafted 49 books
across multiple genres.
