James Preller is the author of a wide range of children’s books, including the Jigsaw Jones and Scary Tales series. He enjoys writing for very young readers (A Pirate’s Guide to First Grade) as well as books for middle graders, such as Shaken, Bystander, The Courage Test, and Blood Mountain. Five of his books have been Junior Library Guild Selections. James lives in the Capital District of New York and enjoys visiting schools far and wide as a guest author. Inspired by the Muppets, Quentin Blake, and the Flintstones, Fred Blunt has been a compulsive doodler since he was in hand-me-downs. He studied illustration at University of the West of England at Bristol, and has worked on all manner of projects, including illustrating for children’s books and designing a series of animated interstitials for the BBC. Fred lives in Aberystwyth, Wales, with his wife, two children, and their retired greyhound.
