Peppermint essential oil is widely used in complementary health care and nursing, aromatherapy and aroma care. In addition to its well-known uses for headaches and hot flashes, peppermint essential oil offers expanded potential in everyday nursing care, both alone and in combination with other essential oils. Interventions range from skin applications and inhalations to oral administration. However, the latter is clearly subject to therapeutic and medical considerations. This book aims to highlight the areas of application with scientific references, explain the methods of nursing applications in more detail, and also emphasise the dangers associated with the use of peppermint essential oil. The appendix contains an exemplary nursing standard and completes the topic of clinical applicability.
