NORM MITCHELL has lived in Minnesota for thirty-five years, longer than New York City, where he was born and grew up. When he was six, he had his first story published in his school's literary magazine. In the fourth grade, he developed a love of history, especially that of Russia, Germany and the Balkans. And that, along with writing, has been his lifelong passion. He graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, with a B.A. in history and a minor in philosophy. He has travelled extensively in North America, Europe, and the Middle East with the Air Force. His last book, also published by Calumet Editions, was The Hidden One, the first book in the People of the Blood Trilogy.
