The porosity mechanical resistance of a ceramic membrane elaborated from animal bone has been studied using a design of experiment (DoE). A complete factorial design 23 has been developed in order to study the factors, their significant interactions and the effect of the physical and chemical characteristics of design or tubular membranes. The main factors investigated are the sintering temperature as a thermal parameter, the granulometry for the particle size distribution and the starch content being an organic additive that contributes to the final porosity and mechanical resistance. The optimization of the results revealed that the response value of porosity was 15,7% for bone and 40,77% for clay. Finally, the design of the experiment allows us to determine optimal values for adjusting various parameters, to obtain the desired porosity value on a membrane support.
