Wanting to settle down into a very domestic mundane English life, he hires himself to Mr. Fogg as his valet, expecting nothing more than regular hours. But when Phileas Fogg makes a bet with his friends at the Reform Club, his routine life is suddenly turned on its head as he runs a race with time to make a trip around the world in eighty days.
