"The Egyptian Front" is a bold political book that reveals the vision of Ali Maher Pasha, one of the most prominent Egyptian statesmen during the Farouk monarchy. He served as prime minister three times and witnessed fateful transformations in Egypt's history. In this work, the author lays out a comprehensive project for a national policy that the masses have long dreamed of. He called for evacuation as the first principle of the 1952 Revolution, as well as the redistribution of agricultural property, guaranteeing freedom of the press, and reforming the parliamentary system, in addition to promoting education, health, and industry. The book proves that the Free Officers' proposals were not spur-of-the-moment, but rather an extension of long-standing demands clearly expressed during the monarchy. This text re-reads that period, moving away from absolute categories of failure and success, and gives the reader the opportunity to discover the intellectual roots of the principles that changed the course of modern Egyptian history.
