Class Act

This is our Alma Mater. It opened in 1935 and was the only grammar school in town until it went comprehensive in September 1970.

It was Dagenham County High.

The classes of '69 tell their stories from a pupil's perspective, and it wasn't all plain sailing.

What did it feel like to be within the upper quartile of academia?

What did we get up to? Who were the teachers and how were they viewed?

What did we really learn? How did it prepare us for the world of work?

We describe our emotions, relationships and experiences with the odd prank thrown in for good measure.

How is it that after 60 years, we still get together on a regular basis?

We heard the odd Thunderclap overhead during our time; we even had our very own Newman; but as night follows day, there was definitely Something in the Air.
