The Golden Stick

All it took to change Ethan's life was one wish.

When twelve-year-old Ethan discovers a glowing golden stick under an old oak tree, the note that comes with it seems simple: make a wish.

So he does.

Big mistake.

Ethan's wish goes horribly and expensively wrong. Now he is stuck with a magical object that never quite gives people what they truly want and grows more hostile every time he tries to get rid of it.

The harder Ethan pushes back, the worse things become. And the more he uncovers about the stick, the more it feels less like bad luck and more like part of a plan.
