Can you find love again with your first love? Fiona O'Reilley is just a teenager when she has the opportunity to spend a year in a mystical city half way around the world, where east meets west. She is both excited and nervous to explore an intimidatingly large foreign city, make new friends and overcome language barriers.

After university back in Canada, she starts a family that grows and grows, until a life-shattering event forces her and her family to adapt to unfortunate circumstances.

With her children grown, Fiona feels pulled back to Istanbul. Upon return, she rediscovers the wonders of the city, reconnecting with old friends, who have, themselves, grown to be strong women. And out of nowhere, she begins to feel romance in the air.
