Lewis Carroll (1832-1898) was the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, an English mathematician, logician and photographer who lectured at Christ Church, Oxford, for twenty-six years. He wrote on determinants and logic under his own name and nonsense under the other. His works include Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking-Glass, The Hunting of the Snark, and Sylvie and Bruno.
