The year 2006 was an anniversary year for the great Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla since he would have celebrated his 85th birthday on 11 March. The inventor of the 'tango nuevo' composed more than 1,000 pieces and influenced many of his fellow musicians and composers - though some of them had called him a traitor to the traditional tango at first.
Boosey & Hawkes now publish a collection of tangos and other pieces by Astor Piazzolla in an arrangement for solo piano.
