This book focused on two things. First, there were the little bulbs themselves-not only common things like aconites and crocuses and the tinier sorts of daffodils, but also rarities like Clinopodium georgianum and Habranthus texanus-all plants which she grew in her garden, first in Raleigh and then in Charlotte. Second, and of equal importance, there were the friends who shared her passion of gardening.
