former German footballer, currently a coach for the German Football
Association. As a goalkeeper he made 112 Bundesliga appearances for
Fortuna Düsseldorf. Daniel began his football career with SV Herringen,
and had his first experience of success in 1969, winning the A-Jugend
youth championship with VfL Bochum. He moved to Alemannia Aachen in
1970, playing in the German second-tier Regionalliga West as Aachen's
reserve Goalkeeper.
