Kathryn F. Hoxie, known musically as Kfhox, is a singer and songwriter. She authored and illustrated the book shortly after traveling to Kingston, Jamaica, where she recorded the song the book is based on at Bob Marley's Tuff Gong Studios & House of Hits. "Daydream," a version of the song released in 2016 was under consideration at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Pop Solo Performance. She has been under consideration for 3 other categories of The Grammys since then for her song, "Back With You," which she wrote and performed. She is currently residing in the Nashville area further pursuing her songwriting and other musical endeavors, as well as authoring and illustrating her next children's book based on a little girl learning to play guitar. In September 2018, she released her first ever spoken word album entitled "Maktub."
