Messenger is a prophet sent by God with a Sharia "Divine Law". In
Christianity, the Greek term angelos "messenger" is used to refer to
supernatural beings sent by God. However, Islam does not consider
Messengers to be supernatural beings and employs a separate term for
"angels". According to the Qur'an, God has sent many prophets to
mankind. However, a messenger entertains a 'rank' higher than a prophet,
bringing a new Sharia to the people, while prophets reinforce old ones.
Twenty-five prophets are mentioned by name in the Qur'an, but according
to the hadiths there have been over 124,000 prophets in total sent to
all portions of the Earth to preach and spread the message of Islam
