Neil Turner's childhood was awash with influence from his storytelling parents and his older siblings' love of writing. In high school, he earned extra money by writing papers for other students. Since any applicable statute of limitations has long since expired, he would like to note that he remains mildly bitter about getting B's on his own papers while the ones he did for others received A's.Later jobs included day work on local farms and ranches, fry cook, a bakery, and a butcher shop. Professionally, he worked as an engineer, a field not especially known for writing. But Neil found ways to employ his writing skills throughout his career. After the loss of his daughter, he turned to writing to help process his grief and, in doing so, embraced the beauty and humor in parenthood. That led to The Daddy Essays, in which Neil shares personal lessons and observations from his unusual fatherhood journey, hoping it will enrich readers' own parenting journeys. Neil resides in Oklahoma with his wife. Together they have three children. Neil homeschools their youngest child, Alex, who has autism. They share their adventures on various social media platforms, and if you would like to follow along, you can find more information and the links at www.OkieSchool.org.
