for the first third or so, i was super annoyed at simon. he just pissed me off. all he did was eat, complain and blow things up. and of course brag about the fact that he's "the chosen one" and "the most powerful mage EVUUUUUUURRR!!!! PERIODT!!!" gosh. absolutely unlikeable. then, once baz came in it was like a breath of fresh air. i love him. my fave character in the book. finally some pace and action too! i liked it more than i thought but probably will not continue with the series. it's sometimes a little juvenile for me.
