The Red Jewel is a story of mystery, intrigue, and passion surrounding a multigenerational cranberry farm in the fictional town of Berryton, Massachusetts.
Jazmine Cooke is a recent law school graduate on a mission to learn more about the father she never knew through DNA research, seeking some much-needed closure. Her mother, Melissa, has always been tight-lipped, only saying he had died while she was still pregnant, refusing to reveal anything else about him or his family.
James Jewel is part-owner of the well-known Red Jewel Farm, a major producer and supplier of cranberries. He has no immediate answers for Jazmine when she contacts him after realizing a great-uncle of hers had drowned in one of their bogs in 1960, at the tender young age of 7, hoping this would be a clue to uncovering so much more.
A trip to New England becomes imperative when Jazmine's voicemails go unanswered, angry by the runaround, but concerned that there might be something else going on behind the scenes. Undeniably, she is drawn to the handsome owner of Red Jewel Farm when they finally meet, who reluctantly agrees to speak with her about the family she desperately wants to know more about.
Not prepared for what she will hear, after speaking to James and his dad, will the week-long visit to Berryton lead to something unexpected, changing the course Jazmine is on with her family and her love life? Or will she return home to Virginia, determined to close out that chapter after a painful discovery, putting the past behind her?
