Created by the members of the Stirling Street Arts Centre in Bunbury, Soups and Slices is a community cookbook filled with treasured recipes, warm memories, and timeless favourites.
This collection showcases a generous selection of comforting soups, savoury bakes, patties, quiches and pasta dishes, alongside an abundant range of classic Australian slices, cakes, muffins and sweet treats. Many of the recipes have been passed down through generations, while others are shared with kind consent from the historic Tuesday Club recipe book first published in 1982.
Many of these recipes have been handed down from mothers and grandmothers (and some fathers and grandfathers too), preserving traditions that have nourished families and friendships for decades. More than a cookbook, Soups and Slices is a celebration of community, creativity, and the simple joy of sharing food.
Whether you're simmering a hearty pumpkin soup or baking a nostalgic lemon slice, these recipes invite you to gather, cook, and connect.
A true taste of community.
