Winona Howe's debut novel was the prize-winning Sita and the Prince of Tigers, followed by The Penniman Menagerie, which received the gold award for young adult readers from Nautilus Book Awards. Her third book, The Palace in the Jungle, is a sequel to Sita and the Prince of Tigers. Winona taught literature at La Sierra University for twenty-five years. Her favorite classes, Victorian and children's and young adult literature, often led to conference presentations and publications. An enthusiastic traveler, Winona has visited all seven continents. Several trips to India have allowed her to explore various regions; her love of India and its landscape is reflected in her writing. Born and raised in California, Winona now resides in Riverside with her husband.
