Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the Headquarters, Branches and Services Adjutant and Quarter-Master General, 57th Division, covering February 1917 to June 1919 across 91 pages. It names 42 places across 68 dated entries.
The diary opens at Boulogne on 2 February 1917. 1917 is spent at Croix Du Bac, Sailly, Norrent Fontes, Cocove Chateau and Proven. 1918 at Duisans, Couin, Steenwerck, Mons-En Baroeul and Merville. It closes at Duisans on 25 June 1919. Duisans is where it spent longest, 202 days, including a single unbroken stay of 202 and it came back to Sailly six separate times.
Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Cocove Chateau, Elverdinghe Chateau and Welsh Farm.
