Thane Vanders has been searching for his father and sister for the past ten waves and no one has been able to find them since. He attempts to decipher how they disappeared without the help of anyone. However, his mother's constant attempts to make him King end his search.

Thane gets preoccupied with a selection, war, and a relationship - perhaps many - that his mother coerces him into participating, but continues to reject.

The question remains- will Thane succumb to the pressure of his title or rise to the occasion and keep looking for his family in spite of everything?
