Superheroes Hidden Talent

Amparo Medina is an educator, author, and lifelong lover of history and culture. She attended New York City Public Schools and dedicated more than 25 years to teaching, where she inspired countless students with her passion for learning. Even in retirement, Amparo remains deeply involved with children through her family, church, and community. She is a proud mother of two and a loving grandmother of four. Amparo has a special enthusiasm for lighthouses, especially those found on her home island of Puerto Rico. Her fascination comes from their beauty, history, and the way they symbolize guidance, strength, and hope. This passion led her to publish her first book, Lighthouses of Puerto Rico, where she shares the rich stories and cultural significance behind these iconic landmarks. Through her writing, Amparo continues to educate and inspire others while honoring her heritage and love for Puerto Rico.
