Still Wiser

Davis Prime, a product of a diverse south Florida, spent his formative years in Dade County. Here, he discovered his musical soul, and it was destined to sustain him through many years of life. Whether playing trumpet in his high school marching band or interning with the Miami Beach Philharmonic music was his primary motivator. It would see him through his studies at Miami Dade College and beyond Miami to Tampa and the University of South Florida. Fate would have its twist at USF, and he would leave with a degree in journalism, instead of music. Eventually however, he would return to his first love and finish a music degree as a vocalist at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. He would spend a grand total of ten years away from Florida, in Mississippi, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, before returning to Florida State University in Tallahassee for graduate studies in Choral Conducting . That degree was destined to be left unfinished, but he would find a career at FSU, where he is still currently employed . He has forsaken neither his music nor his writing, however, and he can be found playing the bass guitar with his church band or crafting novels such as Still Wiser.
