Michael Jacques, born on 24 October 1956. The author of this story has a bachelor's degree in social sciences, obtained at the University of Westminster in London, England, and a postgraduate certificate in education from the University of Huddersfield.

He has an extended knowledge of the local culture of St. Lucia, where he lived until the age of ten, and has since lived in the inner areas of London, where he founded Tai Chi UK, an organisation that provides Tai Chi and Gongfu-Karate classes to children.
