Indeed there's so much to love especially Bryony's mixed media depiction of the sylvan setting of the tale with its tall trees and those foxgloves, anemones and other wild flowers: and definitely not forgetting that tiny frog wearing a crown and sitting a-top a stone in a pond. Equally delightful is the lyrical telling with its fairy tale allusions, descriptions and occasional word play.
A great story to share with KS1 classes and individuals, making sure there's plenty to time to peruse the pictures.
