Schiller's play is perhaps the more poetic of the two plays, and ends in a historically inaccurate way, Shaw's play on the other hand, stays close to the historic truth of the events and, while it provides a dramatic unfolding of the events, it also leaves us with powerful insights of the culture and social mores of the times, particularly of the late medieval period.
