Jenny Hendy is first and foremost a garden lover with a passion for enthusing others. She is the author of many gardening books on a wide range of subjects from topiary to container gardening and garden construction, though planning and design have always been her specialty. Jenny' s fascination for plants and wildlife brought her into contact with gardening at a very early age. Eventually this interest led to her gaining an Honours degree in Classical Botany. She worked as a researcher and writer for one of Britain' s leading gardening magazines and since turning freelance has established a career as an internationally published author, lecturer and radio broadcaster. In addition to writing and presenting, Jenny runs a thriving garden design consultancy. She also works with nursery and primary school children helping to run workshops and after-school clubs with practical and creative gardening and nature projects. Her other titles include A Practical Guide to Topiary (Aquamarine); The Complete Practical Guide to Patio, Terrace, Backyard & Courtyard Gardening, and Garden Wisdom (both Lorenz Books); and Creative Ideas for Garden Decoration, Creative Ideas for Garden Structure, Creative Ideas for Lawns, Patios, Decks & Paths, and Creative Ideas for Walls, Fences, Hedges and Boundaries (all Southwater).
