Jean-Claude Carriere is one of France's most distinguished modern writers and he has received the Prix Goncourt for his novel 'The Valladolid Controversy'. He has adapted 'The Mahabharata' for Peter Brook and recently 'Proof' by David Auburn. He has collaborated with many film directors, such as Jacques Tati, Milos Forman, Luis Bunuel and Jean-Luc Godard, writing the screenplays for: 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being', 'The Tin Drum' and 'Cyrano de Bergerac', among many others.
